Sportsmen and women following the extreme marathon in Cheshire over the Festival weekend can learn all about the development of marathon running over the past two thousand years from two highly experienced and very enthusiastic runners. Colin Green is a Neurological Physiotherapist and Director of Physio Matters Neurological Limited. He has completed distances up to the 200 Mile Ultra Great Britain. Louise Tidbury made the transition from Marathon runner (100 Marathon Club) to Ultra-Runner. She fell in love with her boyfriend at her first 100 Mile Race and is very supportive of everyone taking part in the Race and finds it as rewarding as running on the trails and pushing her limits! Listen to their fascinating talk over coffee and cake at Tilly’s Coffee Shop, well-known and loved by cyclists, ramblers and the local community.
On Saturday, 19th May, the 1st Ever ‘100 Mile’ Chester Ultra Marathon takes place. Sharing all the successful qualities of the ’50 Mile’ Version, the extended route follows the Sandstone Trail to take in Beeston and Peckforton, where there is a pit-stop, Harthill, Bickerton, and Tattenhall via the River Dee to finish at Waverton.
